Since 1975, Pick-Staiger Concert Hall has functioned as both a classroom and a performance facility for the school’s ensembles, faculty, festivals, and guest artists.

Dedicated on October 26 of that year in honor of Corinne Frada Pick and in memory of Pauline Pick Staiger, the hall brought a much-needed large performance space to campus.

Audiences in the storied hall have enjoyed appearances by such artists as the Assad Brothers, Daniel Barenboim, Grace Bumbry, John Cage, Renée Fleming, Yo-Yo Ma, Branford Marsalis, Bobby McFerrin, the Philip Glass Ensemble, Steve Reich, Frederica Von Stade, and Pinchas Zukerman. Renowned conductors have led major orchestras there, including Carlo Maria Giulini with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Lorin Maazel with the Cleveland Orchestra, and Pierre Boulez with Ensemble InterContemporain.

Pick-Staiger hosts roughly 85 public events each academic year and is the source of countless memories—made onstage, backstage, and in the audience. It remains an important cultural landmark of Northwestern and the north Chicago suburbs.
