The autumn portion of Chicago's 2015-16 classical music season brings to mind expectations and questions that won't begin to be answered until the season has run its course. For example: Will the Mary B. Galvin Recital Hall in Northwestern University's brand-new music facility be an acoustical godsend, as many user groups hope?

Here are 10 major classical events through the end of the calendar year you'll want to pay close attention to:

Patrick G. and Shirley W. Ryan Center for the Musical Arts: A dedication ceremony on Sept. 24 will launch the Northwestern University Bienen School of Music's year-long celebration of its new lakefront music facility, crowned by the 400-seat Mary B. Galvin Recital Hall. John Luther Adams' "Sila: The Breath of the World," for 90 musicians, will inaugurate the building on a mystical-environmental note.
