Soprano Patricia Racette has appeared at such leading opera houses as the Metropolitan Opera, Lyric Opera of Chicago, La Scala, Paris Opera, Theater an der Wien, and the Bayerische Staatsoper. The Santa Fe Reporter raves that “her tops notes soar with warmth and luminosity,” adding that “as a consummate actress, she’ll have you forgetting you’re in an opera house.” Racette has won special acclaim as an interpreter of Puccini (Madama Butterfly, Tosca, Il Trittico) and Janácek (Jenufa, Kátya Kabanová). Highlights this season include The Consul with Long Beach Opera and Chicago Opera Theater, Street Scene with Madrid’s Teatro Real, and her directorial debut with La traviata at Theatre of St. Louis.
