Professor Donald Nally and The Crossing’s recording of Eriks Esenvalds’s "Earth Teach Me Quiet," from the album Rising w/ The Crossing, was named one of the 25 Best Classical Music Tracks of 2020 by the New York Times.

The review states: "...a work of true radiance, fired by the precision and passion of this spectacular group."

Released in December, Rising w/ The Crossing was based on the acclaimed series of daily pandemic-inspired chapters of the same name. The first 60 chapters ran from March 16 to June 5, 2020 and featured archived recordings by The Crossing, each accompanied by thoughts on why the ensemble loves singing together and why they love singing that day’s music.

The series gained national attention and was archived by The Library of Congress as a cultural artifact as an "important part of this collection and the historical record."
