The Northwestern University Chamber Orchestra's program opens with the overture to Rossini's opera La Cenerentola, based on the Cinderella fairy tale, and continues with Tchaikovsky's delicate Prayer from his Suite No. 4 in G Major. George Walker's anticipatory Tangents for Chamber Orchestra, the composer's tribute to the new millennium, concludes the first half of the program. Rounding out the evening is Mozart's colorful "Prague" Symphony—premiered in that city in the while the composer was still enjoying accolades for The Marriage of Figaro

About

Pick-Staiger is a 972-seat hall located in the Arts Circle on the Evanston campus of Northwestern University. The main lobby entrance for concerts is on the west side of the building (revolving and regular doors). Since its inception in 1975, the hall has functioned as both a classroom and performance facility for Bienen School of Music performing ensembles, faculty recitals, festivals, and professional guest artists.
