The opening performance of the summer Trombone Master Classes. Chicago Symphony Orchestra trombonist and principal trombone of the Grand Teton Music Festival, Mulcahy has served as principal trombone of the Cologne Radio, Melbourne, and Tasmanian Symphony Orchestras. He is active as a soloist, teacher, lecturer, and clinician throughout the world. He is joined by Daniel Chevallier, a Bienen alumnus and doctoral candidate at the University of North Texas, for a performance of Bach, Mozart, and Hindemith.

Located in the Ryan Center for the Musical Arts, this 400-seat hall features a 40-foot glass wall offering views of Lake Michigan and the Chicago skyline. Undulating walls of Forest Stewardship Council–certified wood, covered with a thin layer of African moabi wood, provide optimal acoustics, and the hall is equipped with state-of-the-art sound and video equipment for recording.
