Pianist Kate Liu has garnered international recognition, notably winning the Third Prize at the 17th International Fryderyk Chopin Competition in Warsaw, Poland. She also received the Best Mazurka Prize, as well as the Audience Favorite Prize awarded by the Polish public through Polish National Radio. Since then, she has toured internationally, performing at some of the world’s most renowned venues and collaborating with orchestras around the globe. As a distinguished soloist, Liu has performed in prestigious halls including the Seoul Arts Center, La Maison Symphonique de Montréal, and Carnegie Hall's Weill Recital Hall. Her esteemed collaborators include the Warsaw Philharmonic, Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal, Yomiuri Nippon Symphony Orchestra, Cleveland Orchestra, Daegu Symphony Orchestra, and Rochester Philharmonic. She is a regular invitee to the Chopin and His Europe Festival in Warsaw, and in 2024, was the recipient of the Olivier Berggruen Prize as part of the Gstaad Menuhin Festival. In 2025, she released her debut album featuring Beethoven and Brahms sonatas with Orchid Classics.

Located in the Ryan Center for the Musical Arts, this 400-seat hall features a 40-foot glass wall offering views of Lake Michigan and the Chicago skyline. Undulating walls of Forest Stewardship Council–certified wood, covered with a thin layer of African moabi wood, provide optimal acoustics, and the hall is equipped with state-of-the-art sound and video equipment for recording.
