Program Requirements

Master of Music: Double Bass

Prescreening required; must be video format.

Prescreening and audition unaccompanied. If possible, prescreening repertoire should be separated into different video files. It is also acceptable to upload a single video file that contains all required prescreening repertoire. Please see the Graduate Application for more information. 

Fall 2026 Audition Dates:

February 6-7

For Prescreening:

  • Two contrasting solo pieces

  • Three orchestral excerpts of the applicant's choice from any works by Bach, Beethoven, Brahms, Mozart, and/or Strauss (any combination is acceptable).  

For Final Audition:

  • Two contrasting solo pieces
  • One movement from J.S. Bach, Suites for Violoncello
  • Five orchestral excerpts of the applicant's choice from any works by Bach, Beethoven, Brahms, Mozart, and/or Strauss (any combination is acceptable).
