Born and raised in Hanoi, Vietnam, An Tran is a “Vietnamese guitar virtuoso” according to Austin Classical Guitar. After winning first prize in the Vietnam National Guitar Competition at the age of 12, the internationally acclaimed guitarist went on to perform throughout North America and Asia, both as a soloist and a chamber musician. Most recently, Tran won first prize in the 2018 New Orleans International Guitar Festival Competition. Deeply connected to his native country of Vietnam, Tran is committed to bringing the traditional music of Vietnam to the international concert stage.

Single tickets are $30 for the general public and $10 for students with valid ID.

Located in the Ryan Center for the Musical Arts, this 400-seat hall features a 40-foot glass wall offering views of Lake Michigan and the Chicago skyline. Undulating walls of Forest Stewardship Council–certified wood, covered with a thin layer of African moabi wood, provide optimal acoustics, and the hall is equipped with state-of-the-art sound and video equipment for recording.
