Albert Pinsonneault

Associate Director of Choral Organizations. Albert Pinsonneault is Founder and Artistic Director of the Madison Choral Project, a professional chamber choir in Madison, Wisconsin. At Northwestern, Dr. Pinsonneault directs the University Singers, co-conducts University Chorale, teaches the graduate choral literature sequence, and mentors graduate students in choral music. Additionally, Dr. Pinsonneault serves as Artistic Director of the Madison Chamber Choir, an advanced volunteer choir in Madison, Wisconsin.

Previous to Northwestern, Dr. Pinsonneault was Director of Choral Activities and Associate Professor of Music at Edgewood College, and Assistant Conductor of the Madison Symphony Chorus. A graduate of St. Olaf College (BM), the University of Minnesota (MM) and the College-Conservatory of Music at the University of Cincinnati (DMA), Dr. Pinsonneault’s scholarship focuses on choral blend and intonation, the physical/kinesthetic act of conducting, and the music of F. Melius Christiansen.  His published work Choral Intonation Exercises is available through Graphite Publishing.
